Moroccan Peaks: 8-Day MTB Escape - Ait Ben Haddou to M'hamid El Ghizlane

Experience the thrill of the Anti-Atlas Mountains on an epic mountain bike adventure like no other. This 8-day journey takes you from the iconic Ait Ben Haddou kasbah to the gateway to the Sahara Desert, M'hamid El Ghizlane.

TOUR PLANNING

DAY 1

Arrive in Marrakech or Ouarzazate, transfer to Ait Ben Haddou. Settle into your riad and explore the UNESCO World Heritage site.

DAY 2

Up to 65 KM, Embark on your first ride, traversing the dramatic Draa Valley. Enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and villages. Overnight in Ouarzazate

DAY 3

Up to 70 KM, Cycle through Berber villages, experiencing the local culture and way of life. Overnight in Agdez.

DAY 4

Up to 85 KM, Challenge yourself with a demanding climb through the Anti-Atlas Mountains. Overnight in Zagora.

DAY 5

Relax and rejuvenate in Zagora. Enjoy a spa day with a traditional hammam and massage.

DAY 6

Up to 80 KM, Cycle through the desert, experiencing the vastness and tranquility of the Sahara. Arrive in M'hamid El Ghizlane and spend the night in a desert bivouac under the stars.

DAY 7

Transfer back to Ait Ben Haddou. Settle into your riad and enjoy the evening at leisure.

DAY 8

Transfer back to Marrakech or Ouarzazate.

TRAVEL GUIDES

  • All mountain bikes and trail bikes are great option for this tour.
  • Bike clothing, gears like helmets and some needed bike parts are
    necessary.
  • Ensure your bike is in good working order before the tour.
  • Build up your cycling fintness with regular rides.
  • Expect warm days up to 35° and the temperatures can drop to 15° significantly at night.
